Hey guys,

i have updated my PC and customized all. I want to install my Laptop separately and would like to know if i can some how use all what i have downloaded (packages) from the web to install in my laptop.

Sorry, I am cuban using a dial-up connection. can you imagine how slow?

so i would like to know if i can some how safe all the packages and install it in the Laptop. please, explain for dummie...;)

You could try aptoncd (http://aptoncd.sourceforge.net/). It is in the ubuntu repos so you can install by searching for it in Synaptic or from terminal

sudo apt-get install aptoncd

Thank you P,

I did what you said and burned a CD with all the packages, now i just wonder about all the other info, like other programs i have already config'ed. For example, i use a Bible library call gnomeSword, and all the bibles, dicction, lexicoms, etc. How can i get those to my laptop? can i just copy them all?

I am not a 100% sure but you could try installing gnomesword on your laptop and copying over your
/home/user/.sword folder over to the same location from your Pc. Remember to change user to your actually username.
