I've never had goat, so I went with what I have eaten instead.

(My mother's family used to eat goat... at least they did when she was a kid)

/me flees the lynch-mob

((they really did eat goat when she was young. they raised them, and rabbits, and chickens))

Goat is quite good. I recommend trying it if you get the chance. Lamb would have been a good option for number 5 too.

Lamb is too bland. I should have left off turkey and put in mutton. Me likes a good shepherd's pie, me does. :D

Why a lynch mob? Goat is one of my favorite animals, either alive or on the plate. A lot of farmers here in Florida raise them, and if we get a big (1-2 acre) place, I'm going to get some to take care of the grass.

Some of my other choices are extinct:
2. Megatherium, a giant sloth
3. Moa, a large wingless bird that lived in New Zealand
4. Horses
5. Jaguars

hmmm, I don't think I can list them in order, but I really like the following animals:

Elephant
Axolotl
Monkey (oh idk what kind... Bonobo)
Tiger
Horse

Elephants and Axolotls inspire religious experience for me. If I would call anything a God, it would be these animals.

Who doesn't like monkeys? They are so like us!

Tigers are amazing in their power, and they just seem to be perfectly formed.

Horse... idk why. I guess they represent freedom to me.

That was a pet ant wasn't it? I seem to remember an episode that was all about a pet ant. (and tiger attacks...) Did they do one on bees too?

Edit: That is going to bug me (no pun intended) until I find out. I guess I'll have to dig out the video tapes for a Monty Python marathon tomorrow. :D

Eric The Half a Bee:

Orchestra Leader:A-one, two, a-one two three four
Leader: Half a bee, philisophically,
Must ipso facto half not be.
But half a bee has got to be
Vis a vis it's entity.
-d'you see?
But can a bee be said to be
Or not to be an entire bee,
When
half the bee is not a bee,
Due to some ancient injury.
-Singing!...
All sing: La di di, one two three,
Eric the Half a Bee.
A B C D E F G,
Eric the Half a Bee.
Leader: Is this wretched demi-bee,
Half asleep upon my knee,
Some freak from a mena
Gerie?
All yell: No! It's Eric the Half a Bee.
All sing: Fiddle di dum, fiddle di dee,
Eric the Half a Bee.
Ho ho ho, tee hee hee,
Eric the Half a Bee.
Leader: I love this hive employ-ee-ee,
Bisected accidentally,
One summer's afternoon by me,
I love him carnally.
All sing: He loves him carnally...
Leader: Semi-carnally.
(speaks)
The End.
Voice: Cyril Connolly?
Leader: No, semi-carnally.
Voice: Oh.

You had a pet rhino? I am so jealous. Just tell me one thing: how did you train him to eat out of those little dishes on the floor in the corner of the kitchen? I've never been able to figure out how to do that, which, as much as anything, has really proven to be a stumbling block for me in getting a pet rhino.

Well, that and my cat would never let a rhino in his house.

5. Bears. I saw a few a few years back in Yellowstone. They look funny, but you do not dare to say it to them, because they'll tear your head off!
4. Bison. Not only are they very imposing (they can run up to 30 MPH/50km/h), they taste great as well. :)
3. Cats (domestic). I like their attitude.
2. Tigers. They are my favourite felines. They move as if they can rip you apart in seconds and they know it. They're graceful too.
1. Budgies FTW. I used to have a few and there little buggers are the most funny animals I know. Furthermore, they are very social and they always seem happy to see (or hear) you.

I agree. It is also very difficult to dispose of them if they die. I tried flushing mine down the toilet but it didn't work out very well.

And I think you actually need a Bee License to keep a bee as a pet.

i love cats. my cats have been the best thing that ever happened to me. gorillas are second, bears third, followed by dogs, then otters. and you?

I would mention, yes, cats and dogs. But also rabbits, both wild and domestic, monkeys, and my favourite wild animal is the hare, which resembles a large rabbit and to North Americans is known as the Jack Rabbit. I've just finished reading a terrific book called Bad Hare Days by John Fitzgerald, about a campaign to save the endangered Irish Hare, an animal under threat in Ireland both from modern farming methods that lay waste to much of the countryside, and the so-called "sport" of coursing in which captive hares are forced to run for their lives in a confined area or enclosure from hyped-up greyhounds that savage or kill many of them in the process.

According to the book, people who take a stand against this hare coursing activity have a mountain to climb in their efforts to protect the long-suffering Irish Hare. Some have been badly bullied and others have suffered nervous breakdowns as a direct result of their campaigning.

Though they've got lots of public support for their campaign, the minority who support coursing are so powerful with top politicians and catholic priests backing them that it seems it could take many more years before the Irish hare gets a better deal.

I know someone will reply to this and make the usual jokes about rabbit stew, "bunny huggers", and say "ah they're only silly animals, who cares?"...but I wouldn't knock the sincere efforts of people who just want these animals protected from some pretty horrific- and I would say UNSPORTING practises.:p
