Hi folks,

Not sure if this is the place to post but i have to start somewhere! Im trying to get Linux working at our university. The network happily lets Mac and Windows users connect but when it comes to linux it seems to hate it!

When connected i can access the intranet (*.solent.ac.uk) and i get a propper internal IP (Similar to that on my Windows machine... Sorry everyone, yes i do have one! :(). To access the internet you have to use a proxy. The proxy is something like http://hallsproxy.solent.ac.uk/.

Unfortunatly, using this proxy still gets us no where! Im trying to figure it out myself first then ill try and get the network people involved, but at this present time there is no support for linux on the network and i would like for that to change!!

Any suggestions as to where i can start?

Cheers!
Scott

No linux distro seems to work there unfortunatly.
