I´m changing some FreeBSD servers to Ubuntu Server 8.1 and am currently working on building out a test server. So far itś been a painless experience. I´ve been working on PC Unixen since the Microsoft Xenix days and this has been by far the smoothest install. I added the X libraries and KDE and itś worked great, except for one thing.
I don´t know if I messed up on the initial Ubuntu keyboard set up (although it did confirm a US-104 keyboard) but some of my keys are messed up.
For instance, the apostrophe key doesn´t do anything unless you hit it twice, in which case it produces what appears to be a back tick. The double quote (uppercase apostrophe key) produces this: ¨ but, again, only after two keypresses.
There are some other weirdnesses too, like the numeric keypadś cursor keys not working.
Any clues? Any fixes?
Thanks for any help.
