This is for my continuing efforts to get my HP Mini 1000 just the way I want it.

I put the Hardy version of Remix on the machine, and am really very fond of the whole setup. It's exquisite really.

But there's a few niggly issues, and I have it that the hardware support for the HP Mini is better under Intrepid than Hardy, but the Remix install for 8.10 isn't there yet (or so I understand), leaving the option of installing Intrepid and then installing the Remix packages separately.

Anyone have any experience with Remix this way? Would I end up with the same awesome if I install Intrepid first, and then the Remix packages, or am I looking at a different kind of headache doing that?

There is a ubuntu spinoff for netbooks called easy peasy. It is Ibex-based:

http://www.geteasypeasy.com/

I must admit that I have not tried it. Its predecessor ubuntu-eee was way too slow for me (I have a EEE900), so I switched to another distro and never had the urge to return.

It looks like Netbook Remix with a different color scheme. What's the difference?
