I had no problem before since my kernel didn't have the asus_something module, the Gnome and KDE shortcuts(Fn+F4 and F5) worked although Slow and inverted.

Now when I press Fn+F4/F5 the shortcut triggers both the kernel(im not sure its the module could be the new X) shortcut and at the same time the inverted Gnome/KDE one.

What happens is quite ridiculous. I dont know why but the only way to reduce or increase brightness is to alter between the two keys rapidly so I keep pressing F4 F5 F4 F5 F4
Feels like i'm playing tetris or something...

Its very annoying help please.

add the brightness applet to the panel: right click on panel -> add to panel -> brightness applet.

hope that helps...
