I downloaded Ubuntu 8.10 last night and installed it on an HP dv6000 laptop that has been giving problems under Windows Vista (automatically rebooting.
I was happy with Ubuntu and experimented for hours lastnight. The system was stable
This morning I downloaded 245 upgrade files. Now laptop will not boot. Message is:
1/060162 Kernal panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown wn-block(0,0)
Any suggestions other than reinstall and skip the upgrades?
