I'm using pidgin as my IRC client for a while.
One thing that annoys me to no end is that when I want to join a channel (and I'm not already in one), I have to
- Ctrl-C ("Join chat")
- **annoying** select my IRC account from a <select> box
- Press tab
- Enter the channel name
- Press enter
Is there some faster way of joining IRC channels? I'm used to being able to type "/join #ubuntu" which is really fast---I don't have to
- observe (that my IRC account isn't selected)
- act (open <select>)
- observe (where my IRC account is)
- act (select it)
- act (play back macro "<tab> #ubuntu <enter>").
--- instead I can just
- act (play back macro "/join #ubuntu <enter>").
So, how do I join #ubuntu without the UI getting in the way?
