I want to create a custom live cd so that if my system crashes I don't have to spend 2 days restoring my customisations...

UCK and reconstructor seem to just be about adding pretty splash screens and some limited selections of extra software.

Remastersys seems more promising, but despite having the latest version, I can't log in to the live CD (password doesn't work). I don't understand the explanations for this or what to do. ALSO I heard nvidia drivers etc aren't included.

Is the standard (terminal) method in official ubuntu documentation? I'm happy to go through that if it works better than these other methods.

ANy tips?????

Thanks
