set up dual boot

i reinstalled xp then used gparted live cd to resize partition.
now when i try to install 8.04 it comes up no root partition????
how do i fix this dilemma?????

Ok i fixed it!
i used gparted live cd and resized the ntfs partition back to its original size.
>>>used 8.04.1 live cd and apparently it originally would not let me leave too little space for the xp partition. But the error message was too little space, which did not make sense since the Ubuntu partition was hugh. It would have been better to have the error message read too little space for the ntfs or windows partition. when i slid the bar over a little more it let me install Hardy, I still gave much more space for Ubuntu. It is cool how intuitive Ubuntu is it even leaves room in the universe for window$, to bad they are not the same.
