View Full Version : CPU without hardware encoding

Looking to build a myth box and wondering how powerful the cpu needs to be in order to use it with a tuner that does not have hardware encoding for analogue television.
Planning at stage to get an AMD 5000 or 5200 and using it with a motherboard with integrated geforce 7050 graphics - would that be enough to allow recording from analogue without problems?

(Looked at the hardware sticky but it seem a lot of people with weaker cpus were using hardware encoding and/or video cards, and the specs on the mythtv site seem pretty out of date - little mention of dual core cpus).
