We will gather together again to continue the discussion and organization for the NC Global Bug Jam. Most of the member liked the idea of having three venues across the state (since we have people scattered in North Carolina). We are still planning for this and we could potentially have three main locations: RTP, Greensboro and Charlotte (Of course this will depend on the number of attendants). More to come during the meeting.

Meeting Information:
What: Planning for the GBJ (Global Bug Jam)
When: This coming Thursday, February 5, 2009 7:30 pm EST
Where: #ubuntu-us-nc (Freenode server port 8001) ***Please note new channel change***

The followings topics will be covered:

a) Venues
b) Fliers
c) Participants
d) Logo
e) Get the IRC channel in compliance w/LoCo standards ( From #ubuntu-northcarolina to #ubuntu-us-nc ) [SOLVED]
f) Update wiki pages.

If you would like to add something else to this agenda or make any suggestions please feel free to reply this post.

We hope to see you there!

Warm Regards,
AK

Hey arepaking,

I'll add we need to get the IRC channel in compliance w/LoCo standards but that is _very minor.

Ah some wiki pages need updating and NC users of Ubuntu to need to step up and we're gold!

All right I will update the agenda.

One more thing, where can we see the IRC Channel LoCo standards? it would be nice to check that information prior the meeting.

Thanks for the input!

You can see the naming convention at the U.S. Teams wiki page here (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/USTeams/#Team%20Naming%20Standards). The U.S. Teams LoCo naming conventions conflict with the official LoCo conventions for U.S. teams on a few areas, however, on the matter of naming the IRC channel they are the same. You can find the official LoCo conventions here (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LoCoTeamHowto#Team%20Naming%20Standards).

Are we still thinking about the meeting on Saturday for the RTP area? Or are we discussing this Thursday during the IRC meeting?

Hi cwill747,
We haven't made a decision yet since we are still looking for a venue. One of our members (Bac) proposed a venue in Carrboro NC which is call Carrboro Creative Coworking (http://carrborocoworking.com/about). This venue could work for the fellas in RTP area but we need to discuss it with the rest of the members who are planning to attend. At the end we could end up with three locations such as: Greensboro, Charlotte and RTP.

I hope we can make a decision during the IRC meeting.
