I have, mistakenly, chosen to use the developer's menu.lst and now I have lost the Suspend facility. Without it, it is too tedious to use Ubuntu and having to go through the whole boot up procedure every time I log on.

Now, the system goes into suspend but on pressing the power button it starts, but there is no display. I have to turn off completely and reboot every time. And finally, when I click on message tools on this forum there is no means to change the title to solved!!?

I have added "noapic" in menu.lst at the end of line beginning with /boo/vmlinuz-------- and that has not had any effect.

I am using ASUS M2N-MX motherboard.

I would be most grateful for help on this.

Thanks,

Alex

The trouble with relying on a forum for help is when no one knows the answer.

I also did the move, but with a full fresh install. Suspend is just giving me that dreaded blinking cursor. I remember doing some simple changes before to get it working, but I am so tired of all the backwards movement I get whenever I upgrade. I think the changes I found were on some (Ubuntu) wiki with a "ACPI" in the title of the page.
