ran applications nvidia to get the latest - then
system administration 'nvidia x server'
and got the vidio board set up the way i wanted
But when i tried to save the info in the X ...
got unable to create xorg.conf.backup
tried several thing but no banana
What do i need to do to get the confiuration saved? TIA

And a further frustration i have to start @ 'system administration ...' every time i reboot
So what do i have to do to make the changes permanent? TIA

gksu nvidia-settings
do that in terminal, then apply your settings

Ok that almost got it. But i forgot to set the refresh rate to 60 & auto set it to 75 which produced a strange screen. After the panic was able to find terminal & went thru the setup again. That fixed the problem :-). Thanks
