Is there a way to export current packages?

is there anyway to export a text file or something which lists all currently installed packages? And then can that list be read in by an apt-get command? I think this feature would be nice, as it would allow people to do things like let you quickly get back all of your favorite programs after a clean install or publish something like a customization of Ubuntu with a single file/command. (Think, Ubuntu for graphical artists, Ubuntu for home business)

You can make a script with Synaptic, but that will include only what you installed with Synaptic.
You can also use AptOn:
