VLC Player not playin for more than 30 seconds???

Hi All....
my vlc player seems to be workin only for about 30 seconds....
once i play a video or audio file, it starts fine, but after about 30 seconds it closes by itself. Whats wrong with it?

Hey im not tryin to play any stream video....
even when i play an audio file it stops after some time....

If you start vlc from the terminal with either vlc -vv or vlc -vvv you'll get alot of info. Some 'errors' messaged are normal, but you may see what's crashing it.

(probably not relevant but if your using pulseaudio set to default to 6 ch output it can cause vlc some problems, if so run top in terminal while vlc is running to ck. cpu usage
