anyone got any good openGL tutorials...i know SDL but want to try openGL, i looked at NeHe but it was confusing since the tutorials were written for windows...

Did you look towards the bottom of all the nehe tutorials? :P You're not going to find anything that is as beginner-friendly & complete as this. The ports are generally commented well, and his commentary is still indispensable, just ignore the code blocks where you don't see any gl prefixes. :)

Hello,

Browse to this page... (http://www.futuredesktop.org/codeblocks_on_ubuntu_8.04.html) and look for Note 5). Jump directly to the "Some important notes." section. The first part is for the older Ubuntu 8.04.

There is also a link that shows... (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=2868563#post2868563) how to compile and run the examples of http://nehe.gamedev.net on Linux. It's very easy.
