I tried... but it wouldn't accept my gpg signature... not sure what I was doing wrong.

I dont get it - what IS it? Do we need to sign it? What good comes out of it?

You don't have to sign it. I signed it this morning after someone was nice enough to explain how to use GPG to me. I was contributing a how-to to the wiki and you need to set up an account with launchpad.net. It's just one of options you can do. I'm hoping it's one of the first steps toward a more active role with the Ubuntu community.

I should have had this done months ago...but I forgot, and then I lost my key, so today I made a new one, uploaded it, and then signed the Code. I am now an Ubuntero :D

It tells me: "An error occured.
str: No public key"
Why?
EDIT: I just have to change "BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE" with "BEGIN PGP CODE"

I did some months back; not that I'm particularly active, but I support the ideas in the code of conduct as a good point of departure for collaboration and interaction.
