Hi there, I installed Ubuntu to a 1 GB USB stick. (according to http://www.pendrivelinux.com/usb-ubuntu-710-gutsy-gibbon-install/)
booting is ok, beside 1 important thing: it is not persistant mode, means, ubuntu forget all docs and changes after reeboot. I set during installation for the casper file the bar on total right. (so approx 250 MB should be used for persistance information) Can somebody help me? I would appreciate it a lot!:D

See this page from the Ubuntu wiki, especially the section marked persistence.

The tutorial is for Kubuntu, but it should be the same for Ubuntu.

at tommcd,
Thank you for offering help. I went through that tutorial, and it is similar as the one I was already trying before. Also, I tried today the same with installing from Live Ubuntu CD the Kubuntu ISO on the USB file, but also no success. It boots fine, but Kubuntu is not persistant. Any other hint in stocks?
