Hey all,

For some reason, KDE shows a lot of garbage on the screen as I hover over icons or open a new window. I've attached a screen capture demonstrating some of the corruption. This happens with desktop effects on or off.

Using Kubuntu 8.10 with the proprietary NVidia driver.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

J-F

I had the same issue with KDE4.2 and Ubuntu 8.10.
Also have a Nvidia card (Quadro NVS 140M) on my T61 with proprietary drivers (177.82).

When opening menus and windows I get for less then a second a similarly scrambled image.

Tested in XFCE. I don't get as much corruption, but I do see garbled windows when they first open.

XFCE is quite usable, but the KDE menu is sometimes so funky that it's mostly unusable. :(

Looks like I should have googled more aggressively. It's a known bug.
