lcdfilter: lcdlegacy vs lcddefault

I like how fonts look in Windows with ClearType turned on. In Ubuntu I use Full Hinting and RGB Subpixel smoothing. Right now I think I like lcdlegacy better, but since the name implies it is an old rendering method and since Ubuntu by default uses lcddefault I want to know what the difference between the two is.
