Hello!

Kde 4.2 was released yesterday. I was going to install it in ubuntu 8.04, but it seems that this last version is not in the repositories yet.

Am I right? Will it be?

Thanks

go to http://www.kubuntu.org for instructions on which repositories to add

It doesn't say anything about how to install it on ubuntu 8.04, only in 8.10, and I don't want to spoil my only PC doing tests myself.

Any help please?

add this to adept

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-experimental/ubuntu intrepid main

Then just click on upgrade and away you go. Log out, and log back in, and youll have kde4.2

By the way. Your kdeplasma-extragear or whatever its called will be removed, so your going to have to find whatever the package is changed to now and install it in order to restore most of the plamoids, however installing this removes digikam, so be warned. (digikam has not been fully ported to kde4 yet, its still in beta).

edit: Sorry, didnt know you were looking for 8.04.

Isn't that repository only for intrepid?, does it works in hardy too?

It seems, then, that there is nothing to do with it in LTS 8.04.

I will have to wait then.

Thanks
