Does anybody know of a way of getting flash player to work with Firefox on Ubuntu 7.10? I can't watch embedded YouTube videos which is annoying.

I have a laptop running 8.04 and that works fine. I need it to be the same on my network of 7.10 boxes.

I have tried installing the flashplugin-nonfree package and also the installer from Adobe's website both to no avail.

Can this be achieved?

Unfortunately this .deb relies on ubuntu 8.04 and has a lot of dependencies. The other method I have already tried.

This is quite annoying. The installation doesn't output any errors and completes. But when you reopen firefox the content is still invisible!

There must be a way to get this working ](*,)

OK. If flash player can't be installed can something so that we can view youtube videos embedded in a web page??

I have tried gnash - no joy!
