View Full Version : [ubuntu] Problem Installing Ubuntu On Seagate 7200.11 1.5TB

Okay, so I finally decide to have Linux on my system.
And I also decide to get a nice new 1.5 TB hdd.

I put the CD in, booted it up, chose Install Ubuntu, and I get this (See Attached Images)

And that's as far as it goes, no matter what option I try to install it.

Somebody help! :S

EDIT: I figured out this is nothing to do with the hard drive!
My motherboard is a Gigabyte EP45 DQ6

I had also reced this same error,

Ubuntu 8.10 does not supports IDE CDROM / DVD Writer,
Try Using Sata..DVD ROM/Writer...

Hi,
Thanks for the reply but...2 things....

1. All my devices are Sata
2. Why would you give that advice when I can already boot from the DVD?

What??? Of course it does -- I have two of them working just fine!
