hi,
i'm currently trying to format my pc...
trying to switch from using PCLinuxOS back to Windows XP Pro

i know before i format i have to have my drivers backed up
and from what i've read up on linux doesn't use like the actual c:drive, and so on...

what i'm trying to do is find my windows drivers that i'll need before i format

where are the windows drivers located?
if anyone knows it'd be nice to have a step-by-step guide on how to find them (since i'm way new to this linux stuff)

thanks in advance

windows drivers are located on the internet site of your computer manufacturer or on the recovery cd that came with it.

Drivers are written for a specific OS, so your Linux drivers won't do any good in Windows. If you don't have a CD with Windows drivers on it, you'll have to hunt them up on the internet.

Just insert your XP pro CD and boot [In the BIOS, first boot must be from CD]. Windows XP Installation CD will ask you if he can erase everything so it can install.

After you erase the partitions, it will ask you if you want to create NTFS or FAT32 partition. Better choose NTFS.

(did it many times)
cheers.
