Lol I remember I had a WinMe machine. It really wasn't that bad. I was also 12 though.

If you don't mind me asking, what is the motivation to upgrade?

The extra 0.0.1 is certainly very appealing.

Versionitis I call it (now).

from 3.0 to 3.0.1 the biggest reason is bugfixes.
There would be no reason to not upgrade under normal circumstances.

For me there is a specific bug in calc formulas that was fixed (non fixed position cells turning into fixed position cells).
Still waiting for 3.1 to fix the calc notes bug (notes do not move when cells move).

i've just installed openoffice 3.0 recently after some painful trial and error and a lot of searches on the forum not knowing version 3.1 would soon come out!

so how do you guys upgrade 3.0 to 3.0.1?

Just a caution that the PPA seems to be offering a partial upgrade today, but it has dependency problems, so don't rush to upgrade before it is ready.

For those super eager to have the very latest software, why not run Fedora on the side?
