After recently attempting to update to the 180.22 version i have encountered a problem. Whenever ubuntu boots it goes to a blue screen which as far as i can gather means my monitor isnt getting a signal. Before the driver update everything worked fine. If i use the recovery mode xfix i get a picture but no effects and the picture is 'shifted' to the right and cuts of about 1cm of the display and i have a lcm thick black line on the left side.

I've tried doing a full reinstall.
Using restricted drivers.
Using envy
Installing manually following THESE instructions.

All of which either had it boot to a blue screen or in low graphics mode. I even went as far as to reinstall after each attempt which safe to say after 8 hours im no better along than before.

Specs

Monitor : Standard res = 1440x900
1GB RAM

I will emphasize that i HAVE had ubuntu working flawlessly before so im not sure whats going wrong this time.
