I'm new to Ubuntu so this might be a pretty stupid question; I don't know:
Anyways, I was messing around with the system services manager and I stop a service that keeps Gnome from starting automatically (I forgot the name of it, sorry). So now when I turn on my computer I log in on the CLI. I ran "startx" and it brought up my cursor and background but that was pretty much it. I did a hard reset and then I entered "gdm" instead, it gave me some kind of error, then I entered "sudo gdm", and then it did the same thing that happened when I entered "startx". I don't really know how to do anything with the CLI so I really need help, otherwise I'm going to reformat and start over (which I really don't want to do, especially when I can learn something in the process...).
This is my first post, so I'm sorry if it's dumb. I promise my next post will be better...
