I am starting in Linux using Ubuntu Server 8.10 to build a home server. I have 2 hard drives, one 16 Gig and the other 500 Gig. In Windows terms I had planned to put all of the file shared data on the 500 Gig drive and put all the system files on the the 16 gig drive. When I go to set up the system Ubuntu wants to set up 2 partition on the 16 gig drive. One is the bootable drive and about 250 meg in size. The rest of the drive is setup using KVM.

Should I set up the 500 Gig drive to use KVM also? FAT 32? At some point I may move to a RAID system of drives but that is a project that is likely 6-12 months from now.

Thanks for your help!!!
