Hi iam new to this Forum,

Iam "was" a hardcore FreeBSD user,,

I tried many Linux distros along the years.

Slackware
Debian
Suse
Gentoo
amongst other,,

then one day i read this article on www.osnews.com
Ubuntu

i thought to my self (what a wonderful world) i have to try this one.

My desktop will never be the same,

Ubuntu is great, WOW never thought linux would be this great.

After i tried ubuntu i thought,, maybe other distros have become this nice,
afterall it was a couple of years ago i tried them.

Installed, Slack, deb, suse, xandros,

hmm
NOPE!!!!!!!!!

None of them could compare to Ubuntu,

i know ubuntu is based on deb so dont flame me,

Thanks Ubuntu Team for this great distro,

Peace, and God Bless

Ubuntu is great. There's nothing else in the Linux world like it!

But I'm here trying to get more FreeBSD competent... oh well.

Well nothing compares to FreeBSD in a server invironment,

Nothing compares to FreeBSD if your used to unix,

Stability means FreeBSD

I like the way the ubuntu community is growing,, (starting to look like FBSD Community)

But for a plain desktop workstation i have to go with ubuntu (even my gf can install apps in ubuntu)

glad you like Ubuntu then.

But how is the whole freeBSD front going these days? Whats its userfriendlyness like to the Linux market?
Ubuntu deff is a special distro. We wont flame you for saying its Debian based, infact its a high "selling point" that Ubuntu is Debian based, beats the annoying RPM anyday (IMHO).

The FreeBSD front is going great, I find FreeBSD is a bit faster on my computer, more responsive.

The userfriendlyness is nothing like ubuntu, but if u compare to Slackware then i find FBSD easier,

And For the unix hacker FBSD is the first choice,

FBSD got ports, =))

One more thing that got me into the ubuntu business is that i want everything to run perfect, but i have grown very tired of always tweaking and compiling everything,

And Ubuntu works great straight of for me.

One more thing; Jesus didnt die for me only, he died for us
