i have a toshiba laptop. i installed mac osx86 on a partition i made with partition magic. it is a "Type AF" whatever that means. i like osx but, cant use wireless networking with my built in card, so not useful for me.

i have decided to install ubuntu, but not really sure what to do with that type AF partition. i need to format it but not sure if it will mess with my booting as it is. i know i had to do something to make windows let me choose what to boot to but cant remember what i did.

i guess what im asking is if i just install ubuntu using wubi will it let me replace/format the osx partition with a linux one? and will it automatically put needed files to choose what to boot to on computer boot up.

It should just install grub which will let you choose what OS you want to boot to. Also, as with most install disks they will let you partition as you please so you can change the partition to whatever you need. Probably ext3.
