Im looking for a distro that doesnīt work out of the box. Here is a list of what I would like in a distro

A distro where I have to manually edit my xorg.conf file to get a correct resolution for my antique monitor
One that looks more like regression instead of progression
Where the devīs tell users to write their own apps
a distro that worked great in the past but doesnīt work that great anymore
Can anyone help me find a distro like this?

Aye. It solves dependencies, as long as you have an hour available ;)

Don't buy any wooden nickels.

From everything I've heard, Gentoo would be my suggestion.

It's nothing I'd be interested in, but then I don't have the same agenda and priorities as you, and that's fine.

Good luck!
