When is Ubuntu ever going to have to option of resizing desktop icons? The LARGE icon is driving people insane, including my fine selft.

Thats probably a problem with GNOME. I remember using KDE in the past and I am sure there was an option to choose a size for the desktop icons.

You can set Default icon size in Nautilus preferences (icon view), this will resize icons on the desktop.

And you can resize each individual icon if you want.

I wish it would let you save settings per folder though.

or what you could do is right click on the item you want to resize and click stretch icon then you can make it as big or as small as you want
