I have been using Ubuntu for several years now and haven't had any problems with live disks up until the 8.10 version. I'm lucky even to get to a initramfs shell. No problems booting Ubuntu or Kubuntu 8.04 or Backtrack 3 or Ultimate Ubuntu flash stick 2.0!? Whats going on with this latest edition that makes it not see the Gnome windows environment? My computer build (2 GB of ram 3.4 intel mobo)? I have tried about ten disks with Ubuntu 8.10, none will get me to Gnome or past the splash screen.
