Trying to keep this short -

Bought 16Gb thumb drive
Formatted Fat32 via Windows
Installed Ubuntu via Unetbootin
Only 4ish GB recognized (duh)
---begin of problems---
Looked into formatting with NTFS
Not a lot of documentation on this process via Windows
Something with NTFS causes more writes? Speeds degradation?

Now for a wrench in the works: I have an IBM x60s laptop... meaning no optical drive. Is there any way to set up a Ubuntu environment on a 16GB thumb drive without a CD? And of course, what are the steps?

Infinite praise for anyone who can expediate this. Thank you all.

you can do this. You need to format the thumb drive some other way though. I am assuming IBM x60s laptop has windows.

Both on 8.10 and 6.10
I think that guide is flawed.
Any other suggestions?
