Linux has bee around for years but there is one app that is missing.
A nice simple X cardfile flat file DB program.
I've searched all over, freshmeat, linux mirrors, and app db's but there is not flat file db program.
asscardfile works fine with wine, but that kind of defeats the porpose of Linux to start with.
Theres a large number of people that could use such a program.
I've a similar program in dos when I ran a salvage yard, cooks could something like it for receipes, phone numbers, you name it, anything you wanted organize, phone calls, business contacts, trucking could use it to track loads hauled by shippers.
So much it can do. Sure theres postGres, mySQL, etc but those are large complicated setups and not really tailored to the hobby user, of small business.
So if theres any programmers out there looking for a project that needs doing this could be it.
