Does anyone know if there is a screensaver out there that behaves like the old Novel Netware "snake" screensaver?

For those who may not know, the old Novel Netware versions used to have a character mode screensaver that was a simple character block snake moving around. The snake would get longer based on the system load. Is there such a screensaver that indicates system load? (Using Intrepid Ibex with Gnome right now.)

Thanks.

I can't help you with your question but you brought back fond memories for me! When I started using *nix it was on Tandy Xenix in the mid-'80s, and my favorite screensaver was snakes. :)

I wrote an xscreensaver hack which is "similar" to the Netware one. If you want to try it, I can send you the source code and/or the binaries.

I don't remember seeing a snake-based screensaver, but do remember playing the game "snake" on a Data General Eclipse back in the 1980s.
