View Full Version : [ubuntu] Dual Boot/ Seperate File Systems

This is my first post. I have decided to start using Linux. I have been using Windows for several years now.

I am interested in installing both Ubuntu 8.10 and Windows Vista onto my computer. I want to partition my hard drive to support both OS's. Is this possible? Also, is it possible to develope seperate file systems so that Ubuntu does not recognize the files I want to use for Vista and vice versa.

I am sure the partition is possible, based on other posts...but what about the seperate file system.

Genetically they have a different file system and they are separate because you are going to use different partitions. Use this guide:
