I use a Fujitsu Siemens lapton with vista pre-installed, so i decided to install ubuntu 8.10 as a second OS and incountered a few problems:

ONE: I downloaded the ISO for 8.10 from the ubuntu website and burned it to a disc using a iso burner then restarted my laptop,
it got to the main menu and i chose install ubuntu and it sat there and sat there and sat there, so i restarted it and tried again same problem ok i'm thinking maybe it's a bad burn so i mounted it to a VM directly same problem. After borrowing a disc with the iso on it from a friend and it installed.

TWO: After installing it and getting to the login in screen I find that the Mouse and keyboard DON'T reponsed except when I hit Alt+F4.

THERE: I try my login and password and it replys "Login incorrect"

How can I reset the login and password???
