View Full Version : [ubuntu] 32 download on site is 64 bit

Hello, i wanted to download the 32 bits version of ubuntu for my laptop from the ubuntu.com site, and i got the ISO ubuntu-8.10-desktop-i386.iso

When i installed it tho, i typed in terminal uname -a and it say'd i have the x86_x64 version. anyone know were i can get the 32 bits version ???

Hi and you select the version you want from the download page. And the output from the previous command was x86_64 correct?

Yes i specially selected 32 bits desktop version and it was x86_64 yes, mistyped it

Ok that is very odd. But if you are running 64bit then why not stick with it. :)

Haha well it's because i'm kinda newbie on Linux, just using it for a month maybe... aaaand i wan't to skype and it's not for 64 bits yet :(
