I'm on my university network and I haven't been able to get mediatomb to work as a media server for my PS3 because my network connection lists UPnP as 'Not Available'. Since I don't have control over the router settings, is there a media server that doesn't require UPnP that I can use?

No solution? Bump.

Sorry, there really is no other solution. PS3 doesn't support normal file shares, only uPnP shares.

how do you connect to the school network?

Is there anyway you can connect to the ps3 directly?

Get a router, put it between your computers and the university network. Run UPnP on your new local network.
