I have a ADS instant TV deluxe USB tuner. This is an older TV tuner, and was created for XP. For some reason, a program called Capwiz is required for viewing a TV stream, at least on a Windows machine. (Its a odd setup). The program is made for XP, but I got it installed and running in Wine. The issue I run in to is that Wine doesn't seem to recognize the TV tuner plugged into the USB port, or another possibility is that additional drivers are needed.

It would be easier if I could use a Linux native program which would be able to access the tuner. Is there any Multimedia/PVR programs which would be compatible with this type of USB tuner, I didnt yet find one.

Thanks

you could try vlc. open vlc>media>open capture device. then you will see a pull down menu. try all the choices and select play. just a thought.
