Is that supposed to happen on purpose...maybe from gnome power manage? Either way I'm happy!

Hmmm, 3 hours is a bit low for light tasks. When using XP was the CPU constantly at 100%? Could be a corrupt install, my mini 9 gets atleast 4 hours when using XP and it is quite difficult (watch videos constantly) to start hitting 3 hours and below.
Still I am just happy Ubuntu also gives me 4 hours on my old laptop, it used to only get 2 hours with Edgy :S.

The odd thing is that it doesn't seem to matter much whether or not I've dimmed the display, I still get the same battery life.
