Yesterday I noticed that the following letters on the keyboard (when typed), produce numbers instead of letters:

I am typing this on a USB connected keyboard (from my daughter's pc). When I type uiopjklm on the laptop keyboard, I get the following (I will now switch over to typing on the laptop keyboard):
456*1230

(back to USB keyboard) Do I have a hardware problem? Do I need to take apart the keyboard assy, and clean underneath the keys?

Thanks for any advice!

Yep, Press Fn-NumLk

The buttons are found on the bottom left and the top right. Quite the hard key combo on the pangolin. Some, not so hard....like most Toshibas:(
