Ever since I upgraded to 8.10, many (not all) of my pdf;s print with no text. I do seem to get all the graphics.

I have a 32 and 64 bit system and they both act the same. I installed by following the directions here:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/CanonPixmaIP1500

and for the 64-bit system I added stuff from:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=593414&highlight=ip1500+64

Most things ,like text or OpenOffice documents, print fine. It doesn't matter if I use evince or Acrobat. I can get the pdfs to print if I open them in the Gimp.

I have gone through the CUPS log and there don't appear to be any errors.

This seems so odd, and it worked fine in every version from dapper to hardy. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Maybe I am missing fonts in CUPS. Is this posible?

Its weird though. If I print an email from Evolution, it works. If I save the email to a file, the resulting file prints with no text. This is true if I use 'Save to File' or the 'PDF' printer.
