Cant see anything on the top bar

Well, I've done updates on both my laptops, Acer Aspire 4720Z and Aspire One, and after I've rebooted them, I can't see anything on my top bar. All there is now is the Ubuntu emblem, and icons for open windows. How do I fix this?

Are you saying the bottom bar is up top?

No, I cant see any text on my top bar. I don't run the bottom bar, so everything is on the top.

I had this once ages ago, you have to kill gnome and restart if I remember correctly.
