Well the best possible way to run Photoshop is using "WINE"in Ubuntu, according to the programme database it works very well, but that would be down to the version of Photoshop you would be using.

Hope that helps.

EDIT : Once again searching the internet maybe your best friend whom you ignored ;-)

You can also run it in a virtual machine. (ie. Virtualbox)

Unless you make your living using Photoshop, I suggest you give Gimp a try. I've never really used Photoshop, but every time I try I find it just to complicated for a regular user. Gimp is installed by default in Ubuntu.

I've been using Ubuntu for about a year now and I still cannot get used to the gimp, its the most badly laid out program Ive ever used. So yesterday I installed Photoshop 7 with Wine and it works perfectly, I know where everything is and Im happy

I agree about gimp being poorly laid out. I have been using it lately because I can't seem to locate my copy of Photoshop, but it is nowhere near as user friendly as photoshop.

Gimp sucks.

Gimp just isn't setup the way you are used to a program being setup, most of the functions are in the main window, which is the smaller window that opens between the toolbox and Layers manager. It's simple just like MSPaint.

GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/) (note, you would have found this within two seconds if you used Google).

GIMP does not suck. People who complain about the user interface of GIMP are usually people who are used to Photoshop's UI, and they think GIMP sucks just because it doesn't work exactly the same as Photoshop, and they are unwilling to learn the user interface of GIMP.

If you are used to Photoshop's layout there is a version of GIMP that clones the Photoshop GUI and makes it look identical.

This version is called GIMPSHOP

i think there's a plugin called gimpshop which makes the gimp's interface look like photoshop.

Slight correction: They are people who are used to the UI of Photoshop on Windows. The GIMP's interface is more like Photoshop on its native platform, the Mac OS.
