Hello guys,

I would like ti upgrade to Ibex but I have some doubts. I already tried to upgrade but it wasn't perfectly successful. Compiz didn't work any more, no matter if I uninstalled and reinstalled it many times and other small issues I don't really remember now.

I decided to format everything and reinstall hardy.

Now I'd like to use Ibex since I read lots of positive comments so far. I'm not sure if redo the upgrade, I don't want to have the same probs. At the same time I don't want to format and lose all my settings and stuff.

Are there any suggestions?

Thank

Make a little space in your drive and try Intrepid in dualboot.

It's a good idea.

Couple of questions:

-how much space do you think I need? I haven't got so much space.

-Will I be able to use the '/home' partition I use with hardy?(maybe not)

Thanks for your help

You can probably make it fit in 8 GB. Make only one partition; mount point '/'
It will use the already present /swap
You have to go 'Manual for that to happen.

I installed Ibex on a new 6Gb Partition.
I have a doubt. Now I have 4 partitions on my hd:

1 for Hardy os
2 for Hardy '/home'
3 for Ibex os
4 for data

When I installed Ibex I just specified to use partition 3 with '/' as mounting point. I didn't spec anything for '/home'. Is Ibex using part 2 as '/home' (already present at install time)?

How can I find out? If it is not using 2 can I specify it now? Can actually Ibex use a '/home' that belongs to Hardy?

Thanks
