I installed a serial card(1 serial port,1 parallel port) in PCI connector slot 1 in my pc(Ubuntu 8.10)..

i tried loopback test in minicom..nothing displayed in screen(selected 9600 baud option in minicom..local echo off..no flow controls)..

same DB-9 connector worked fine(loop back) in Terminal(windows) with default config..

do i hav to install any driver for that card(or some modprobe)..

in windows i use comp management to check whether card and driver installed properly..i hav no idea how to do that in ubuntu,,i tried lspci,lshw..but donno how to interpret that output..its difficult to understand..

help plz...
