I'm trying to get my ATi Remote Wonder (the first model) to work with Ubuntu, but I'm having a hard time finding a good solution. I have tried both drivers, lirc_atiusb and ati_remote, and gotten both of them to work, but neither of them do exactly what I would like. I want to be able to use the mouse feature, which works fine in ati_remote, and I want to be able to control vlc, which works ok in lirc_atiusb, but I can't find a way to get either driver to do both things.

The other problem I have with lirc is that I have to start up vlc with the lirc interface, and I don't know how to get it to load the regular interface as well as the lirc interface so that I can control it with my mouse or my remote.

Any suggestions as to how to configure either driver properly would be appreciated.
